National Acrobatic Gymnastics is a selection-based class suited for gymnasts wanting to compete. Selection criteria by the program coordinator and head coach includes work ethic, training attitude, commitment, physical ability and cohesiveness within groups.
Acrobats of all genders above 6 years of age work in groups of either two, three or four to perform 'Balance' and 'Dynamic' routines to music. Both routines show a range of the acrobats strength, flexibility, tumbling, artistry and teamwork. The Balance routine group skills focus on stability in creative pyramid type lifts while Dynamic routines focus on a variety of throws and catches.
Whilst being a competitive program, the dynamic group environment and the social nature of the sport allows gymnasts to grow as individuals as well as build lifelong memories and friendships with their training partners.
